This one just makes me smile. A blueberry cupcake on a celery green background, with three berries perched on top. I love the way the icing swirls, although I'm not sure this would be the one I'd pick to eat! But as a piece of art, the colors are sooo modern, I'd definitely want this one in my collection!

Here we go, cupcake #7, and I have to admit, my favorite to date. My scanner seems to have trouble with this pink background, in the flesh it is a little lighter, and more neutral, or soft. But I hope having the real thing arriving in the mail looking even better in real life would be a bonus! One of the drawbacks to this whole "painting a day" idea, is y'all have documented proof of the days I sleep in! Sorry I'm running a little late already today, but enjoy!

Welcome to the second week of the daily cupcake! We are starting off with this yummy looking, yet grown up piece. The background is a simple, almost steel blue. Can you taste the cream and caramel on top?

Well there you have it folks, one week of cupcakes! Please take a moment to tell a friend about this site, we'd like to keep this going as long as possible, but it's nice to have an audience. And yes, of course, each piece is for sale. Contact information is in the column to the left. And we'll start posting again Monday morning with a fresh batch. See you then! Have a good weekend!

Mmmm, Chocolate... I have to admit, this has been one of my favorites so far in the series. Besides the fact that it's chocolate, and I think we actually ate this one, I love the way it's painted! All the variations in brown, the way the thin layers of paint sparkle over the dark underpainting. The background color seems a bit off, it is pink, but a very muted neutral pink .
Who could resist?

Coconut cupcake! What can I say? As a painter I love the color variations he has in this piece, from warm yellowey browns, through to the reds around the liner, or 'cup.' I think he really did a great job on this one, I don't think I would have tried to tackle painting flakes of coconut!

Here we go with cupcake #2. This one is a little more "grown up", with a warm pumpkin background. And with true Scott Coleman passion for detail, each little sprinkle has it's own shadow! What a great birthday gift idea!
