Cupcake #100 **sold**

Wow, we made it to 100! When we originally started talking about this project we considered the idea of 100 paintings in 100 days. A goal many daily painters work towards. But now it's pretty obvious we're just warming up! So there will be many more to come, 365 cupcakes is our goal, 265 to go! Scott has decided this centennial moment is a good time to pick up the pace and go for a new painting 6 days a week, so that means the daily cupcake will be posting on Saturday too! Don't hold us to a particular time on those days though, especially if we are at a show, it could be posted at anytime we can get to it!
Blackberries and whipped cream on red, somehow ends up looking quite patriotic. You can't go wrong with red, white, and (almost) blue! Happy Mardi Gras everyone!

Cupcake #69 **sold**

Mmm, blackberries and chocolate, who would have thought? Purple is one of my favorite colors, especially when it is paired with it's neighbor on the color wheel, blue. Even the cup has a hint of color. Repeating a color in a composition makes the eye move around and makes a piece pleasing to look at. And of course the fact that it's a cupcake makes it pleasing also! Enjoy the first cupcake of 2010, there will be many more to come!

Cupcake #64 **sold**

Okay, Okay Uncle we cried! This is the last cupcake before Christmas! We both have a daunting list of commissions and other things to do before the big day, so the Daily Cupcake is going to take a week off. We will be back, full of sprinkles, and cherries, and whatever else we can dream up on Monday Dec. 28th. The emergency cupcake hot line, however will still be open. If you were planning on giving a sweet cupcake painting, and just couldn't nab one in time, email me, we'll squeeze one in. In the meantime we leave you with a winner, berries and cream, on a bold red background. And don't forget, there are still a few available waaaay back in the archives, check out number 6, 41, and 59. See you on the 28th!

Cupcake #29 **sold**

This cupcake, in addition to being perfectly gorgeous, is a great example for a little color theory lesson. We are all familiar with the primary color triad, being red, yellow, and blue. But this piece uses a secondary color triad, being green, orange, and purple. All of these colors are made by mixing two of the primaries together, and sit at equal distances from each other on the color wheel. That's what gives this piece such a nice sense of balance. Well that, and the fact that none of the blackberries are rolling off the top! A sweet addition to any collection!

Cupcake #20! **sold**

Wow, here we are with cupcake #20, that brings us to the end of four weeks on the daily cupcake! But have no fear, we have grand aspirations with this project, which we will reveal as time goes by! In the meantime #20 is a juicy little reminder of summer, now that we've had to turn the furnace on even in Georgia! Warm corals with that delicious deep purple. And you know the cupcake must have been warm to make the icing run off like that!

If you like this blog, share it with your friends! In the meantime we'll see you bright and early on Monday with cupcake #21!

Cupcake #12 **sold**

This little sweetie was completed late last night, and I liked it so much I put it at the front of the line! The blackberries remind me of home (Vancouver Island, B.C.) where they grow abundantly in the late summer. Can't you just taste it? This little 5" x 5" original acrylic on canvas is available for $110 including shipping.
