There is just something magical about the combination of fudge and banana, top it with whipped cream and you are one step closer to heaven. It's funny how after posting over 130 cupcakes they can still have distinct personalities! This one just makes me smile, in sort of a six year old's birthday party kinda way! Simple red and yellow, primary colors, with a couple of slices of strawberry on top. The background has subtle polka dots to mirror the big ones in the cup. We are off to The Bayou City Arts Festival in Houston, TX this morning. What a sharp little cupcake! Pale green, chartreuse maybe, dotted with white and turquoise sprinkles. All surrounded by a pale steel blue, this makes for an elegant, modern color scheme. A row of tiny pale dots near the top adds to the ultra modern look. And if you've been paying attention you'll know that pale blue and green are analogous colors sitting next to each other on the color wheel. And, since the blue is tinted lighter than the green... you have an analogous discord color theory fans! Cheers!

Scott just can't help himself sometimes.... Today's cupcake, chocolate, piled high with white frosting, and topped with, well, looks like "Scott" cookies to me. The background, a warm brick red has a subtle line of dots just about cookie level to make sure you get the joke. An amusing addition to a kitchen decorated in warm earth tones, your office, even the man cave! Enjoy!

We posted a cupcake a few weeks ago with a dog's head on top, so we thought we'd better keep things "even steven" around here. No discrimination in this house, especially as we have a dog, and three cats! Chocolate, a white sugar kitty, all surrounded by a pale, crisp green. This was a perfectly amazing cupcake! A warm (or perhaps even hot) cooked strawberry was laid on top of the icing...and it slowly melted into the top. Pure heaven! Our new favorite from the Atlanta Cupcake Factory. Chocolate sprinkles top it off, we ate it...and it was good!

Today's cupcake reminds me of my Grandparents, licorice all sorts are a staple in their home, and a favorite of my Grandpa. These little candies are quite sculptural on their own. Nested in a mound of yellow icing, surrounded by blue. Maybe this little cupcake will remind you of someone! Enjoy!

This is a simple vanilla cupcake done up in spring green icing with a lucky shamrock on top. Great if you have a little of the Irish in you, or even if you're just looking for a little of the luck! A simple, and very symmetrical cupcake to keep your day on track! I love the combination of lemon yellow and pale, pale turquoise blue. A calming duo that mirrors the feeling of blue sky and sunshine. You can see the black underpainting quite well in the cup on this one, Scott was painting with an almost dry brush, and the result almost looks like chalk pastels. The color just dusting the top layer of the canvas. Have a great day!

A chocolate cupcake crowned with a heap of whipped icing and a sprinkle of chocolate chips, pure heaven! Surrounded by a pale pink background to balance the blues and greens on the cup, this little piece is very versatile. It would pair well with another cupcake sitting on a taupe, blue or green background, or it would sit very happily on it's own. Speaking of sitting, did you know these pieces don't actually have to hang on a wall? They sit very nicely on there own on a table, windowsill, or in a bookshelf. See you tomorrow!

A simple cupcake topped with peanut butter icing, and banana slices. Oh, but wait! It's not so simple after all, that combination makes this cupcake "The Elvis!" And what would the King of Rock and Roll have for a background, but royal purple. Black velvet was a close second, but we settled on the purple, have a great day!

I just love this one! Sherbet (or sherbert, or sorbet...depending on where you're from) colors, the orange and green just play so well off each other. Little flecks of lime green in the fluffy white icing, I don't know for sure, but this looks like a margarita cupcake to me! I think Scott may have invented a new line of cupcakes, margarita cupcakes, daiquiri cupcakes, the possibilities are endless! Cheers!

Red velvet cake, a southern specialty, topped with a creamy icing, pecans, and of course a cherry on top! Put a pale blue background around it and you have another version of a primary triad. Pale, slightly neutral versions of red, yellow, and blue, all at equal distance from each other (more or less) on the color wheel. Add to this an almost symmetrical composition, with the left and right sides being very similar, and you have a simple, pleasing cupcake, with great style! Enjoy!
