In color theory terms, this would be considered a "high value" cupcake. Meaning that all the colors are light, or pale in terms of value scale that runs from light to dark. It is also close to being monochromatic, everything being a variation of yellow, yellow green surrounded by an almost pure yellow. But all that aside, the pile of yellow roses is simply beautiful! This is such a beautiful, formal cupcake. Can't you just see a tray of these at a black tie gathering? A mound of sinfully rich chocolate icing topped with shaved coconut and a maraschino cherry. I love how symmetrical this is with the two bands of white breaking up the composition. Perfect!

Triple cherries on chocolate, if one is good, three has to be better! Surrounded by a mossy yellow green, because it looks so pretty with chocolate brown. The cup is edged with a bit of deep pink to show off the cherries. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and we'll see you on Monday!

Cupcake #196 is pure 50's Florida to me! There's nothing like hot pink and turquoise to take you there. The sliver of yellow cake completes this quirky version of a primary triad, being red, yellow, and blue. I have to admit, this cupcake looks about as natural as a plastic flamingo, right down to the red dye #5 cherry on top! Perhaps we can pull Scott back into the direction of a granola cupcake tomorrow!?

How we got to cupcake #191 without doing a simple chocolate cupcake with sprinkles is amazing to me! We've had everything from peanut butter and jelly to mango, it just shows the possibilities are pretty much endless! The super dark chocolate is dotted with a rainbow of color, and the background is a pretty chartreuse green that matches my fiestaware perfectly, so don't fiddle for long, or it will be hanging in my kitchen! Cheers!

A key lime cupcake, sitting in a jazzy little cup. Surrounded by a sky blue background, this is as fresh and pretty as can be! I love the way the icing curls on this one! Green and blue are analogous colors, and since the blue is lightened to the same value as the green, that makes this an analogous discord. This is why the colors sing so! Enjoy!

Such a tropical little cupcake! It's the colors that do it really, I look at this piece and the first thing I think of is a Hawaiian dress my grandparents brought home for me when I was about 7 or 8! Technically an analogous discord for all you color theory fans, as red and orange sit next to each other on the color wheel, and the red has been lightened to make this hot pink. Enjoy this little blast from the tropics!

Today's cupcake, a combination of chocolate and strawberry is sitting pretty on a golden wheat colored background. The cup is a warm pink, and the fudge icing just sparkles. Neutral brown and blue jean blue have always been a favorite color combination of mine. This yummy little cupcake is topped with rich cream cheese icing and pecans. This is one of the few cupcakes that would fit right in a little boy's room! Who says cowboys don't like cupcakes! Cheers!
