Cupcakes x 3 **sold**

In celebration of Scott whizzing past 100 fans on his Facebook page, (yes he has one, look up Scott's Cupcakes,) we've decided to break pattern and put up this beauty! This sweet group of three, unlike all the others, measures 8" square. So if you've been loving the cupcake series, but have been wishing you could get one just a bit bigger, here is the perfect piece. Like the others, it is on a deep canvas, with the sides painted black. And to make it even better Scott is offering it at 1/2 price. $150. As always, it's first come, first serve! Have a great day!

Cupcake #232 **sold**

A beautiful deep moody chocolate cupcake. I have to tell you, I've been wrestling with the color of this piece in a couple photo programs, and I just can't get it right. The cupcake itself is that deep almost black color of super dark chocolate, and the background is not this turquoise color, it is closer to that deep almost purplish color of fresh blueberries. Technology is wonderful until it doesn't quite get it right! I guess you'll just have to trust me on this one, it's a stunner!

Cupcake #231 **sold**

Crisp, pale, contemporary. All these words seem to fit this little bit of lemon meringue. The pale grey background allows the subtle lemon and burnt sugar colors to come through. This would look smashing in a modern stainless steel and white kitchen. Who wouldn't love a touch of lemon?

Cupcake #230 **sold**

Today's cupcake just sings summertime to me. Strawberry lemonade surrounded by a blue, blue sky. A polka dotted sky perhaps, but still. Working with a classic primary triad, of red, yellow and blue, a simple cupcake invokes a feeling of balance. Pure and simple.

Cupcake #229 **sold**

Today's chocolate mint cupcake is surrounded by a chunky neon yellow background. If citrus colors are your favorite, this may be the one for you. A great cupcake collection starts with one!

Cupcake #228 **sold**

In color theory terms, this would be considered a "high value" cupcake. Meaning that all the colors are light, or pale in terms of value scale that runs from light to dark. It is also close to being monochromatic, everything being a variation of yellow, yellow green surrounded by an almost pure yellow. But all that aside, the pile of yellow roses is simply beautiful! Enjoy!

Cupcake #227 **sold**

Here's your double cherry cupcake to close out the week! The background is almost coral, a bright combination of pink and orange to make the deep purple red of the cherries pop. I love the reflections on the cherries, and all the colors hidden in them. Enjoy your weekend, and we'll see you Monday!

Cupcake #226

A chocolate cupcake topped with cream and a lovely fresh piece of sticky natural honeycomb. The golden background mirrors the color of warm honey. Simple, sweet, and beautiful. Enjoy!

Cupcake #225 **sold**

Beebop a doo wop, rhubarb pie... or whatever it is Garrison Keillor sings on NPR! This, Scott tells me is a rhubarb cupcake. I've had rhubarb several times in pie, and would love to try this cupcake, Scott, who has never had it, is not so sure! The subtle tones of yellows and pink really shine in this cupcake, but the red background is certainly the dominant color. Have a great day!

Cupcake #224 **sold**

I love the contrast between the deep blue and bright green in this piece. The blueberries have that soft dusty color that you see when picked fresh. All sitting in a swirl of vanilla frosting, and dressed up with a matching blue cup. Cheers!

Cupcake #223 **sold**

Pretty citrus colors are the charm of this cupcake. That and the unique piped icing. This will be short and sweet today, enjoy!

Cupcake #222 **sold**

Cupcake #222 is topped with two little strawberry slices. A simply beautiful cupcake, the icing curls around, you can see the shadows in the folds, you may even be able to catch the scent of strawberry if you try! The background is a deep rich chocolate brown. A neutral color that lets the pink shine through. Cupcake postings will be a little random this week, as we are off to another show. But if you follow Scott's Cupcakes on Facebook, I'll give you a little heads up just before we post a new one!

Cupcake #221 **sold**

A slice of orange and a fresh blackberry top today's cupcake. The pale yellow cream cheese icing contrasts nicely with the violet background. My favorite part of this is how the light shines through the orange slice, and reflects off the berry. Have a great weekend, and we'll see you Monday.

Cupcake #220 **sold**

This is such a beautiful, formal cupcake. Can't you just see a tray of these at a black tie gathering? A mound of sinfully rich chocolate icing topped with shaved coconut and a maraschino cherry. I love how symmetrical this is with the two bands of white breaking up the composition. Perfect!

Cupcake #219 **sold**

A bunch of berries forms this cupcake's crown. The soft pink and blues in this piece are merely tints of the color of the berries. A tint being a color with white added. A shade, since we're on the topic, is what you get when you add black to a color. But enough of that, the end result is a sweet piece that would love to make its home in any baby's room, shower gift anyone?

Cupcake #218

Today's cupcake is covered in crushed pecans and bits of caramel, then smothered in whipped cream. It can hardly get any better than that! The sunny yellow background just makes me smile. I can see this sitting on the window sill in a little country kitchen. You know these don't have to be hung on the wall, they sit up just fine on their own. Put a string of them in a window, or along a mantle. No matter where they are, they'll get noticed!

A simple strawberry cupcake. The soft pink icing is surrounded by a neutral taupe background. Topped with a single fresh strawberry, this is sure to delight. Enjoy!

Cupcake #216

Today's cupcake was a challenge to my color correcting abilities, and it's still not right. The background of this piece is actually the color of fresh really ripe cantaloupe. But when I get that right the color of the chocolate goes way off, so I guess you'll just have to trust me on this one! I love how the icing gradually gets to be a darker and darker chocolate until it reaches the deep devils food cake. Chocoholics unite!

Cupcake #215 **sold**

Today's cupcake definitely fits into my "grown up cupcake" category. Beautiful analogous colors, blue and green, framed by a soft neutral background. Simple, sophisticated, just lovely. This little number would look so sharp in a group in a formal dining room, be brave!

Cupcake #214

What a sweet thing! Pale pink with pink sprinkles, the topper is a fancy sugary doodad. (Way to go Kathrine, they say the nouns are the first to go!) Surrounded by a fresh spring green, this little cupcake longs to be in baby's room! A great shower idea, or perhaps the perfect thing for the grown up little girl in your life! Enjoy!

Cupcake #213 **sold**

Looks like Christmas in July to me! If you are one of those super organized people, this may be the time to snatch up a Christmas cupcake to swap out for another in December. Or you may just be a big fan of peppermint, white chocolate, or the beautiful rich burgundy red that surrounds this gorgeous cupcake. Have a great day!

Cupcake #212 **sold**

Ah, a sweet lemon cupcake! Topped with fresh blueberries, the lemon lime color is surrounded by a pale orange sorbet, or perhaps cantaloupe color. A delightful little piece to brighten up a room. Cheers!

Cupcake #211 **sold**

This little beauty started as a simple chocolate cupcake, then it was piled high with peanut butter frosting and rolled in flakes of chocolate. Three little peanut butter cups finish it off. Surrounded by a deep purple to complement the golden yellow icing. This would go well in my kitchen, how about yours?

Cupcake #210 **sold**

This little cupcake is a pretty collection of soft citrus colors, lemon, and orange, the background can probably best be described as pink grapefruit! Topped with a candy orange blossom, and curls of white chocolate. And the best part is the model is in my fridge! The news you may not know is that Scott's cupcakes can now be found on Facebook, so if you are a facebook junkie like me, just search for Scott's Cupcakes and "like" his page. Then you'll get a reminder each morning just before I post a new one. Cheers!

Cupcake #209 **sold**

The fourth of July cupcake showing off one day early! Enjoy the red, white, and blue in the form of strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream. All in an amazing paper cup, perhaps Scott's next career move should be designing cupcake liners! Have a fun and safe 4th, and we'll see you again on Monday!

Cupcake #208 **sold**

Today's cupcake, the triple chocolate threat! Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate, surrounded by a raspberry pink background. A sweet piece for a little girl, or a big girl! Group this with other chocolate favorites, or other cupcakes with hints of pink, either way, it's sure to shine!

Cupcake #207 **sold**

A pretty cupcake, pink roses top a mound of pistachio green icing. This is one of those cupcakes where the icing is put on with an ice cream scoop, yum! The background is a pale sand color, a nice neutral to surround the complementary pink and green. A gentle way to introduce a little color into a neutral themed kitchen. Cheers!
