Cupcake #365 **sold**

HOLY CUPCAKE! How did this happen folks? We have come to the end of 365 cupcakes! We thank you so much for all your support, we could have never done it without our collectors near and far!

There has been a lot of anticipation over this final cupcake, and we've decided we simply have to let the best (or fastest) collector win. The first person to send me an email to kallencole@aol.com will be the proud owner of the final cupcake. But as a consolation prize to those who aren't first, Scott is willing to do a repeat version of this upside down cupcake for anyone who may want one.

Cupcake #364 **sold**

The screwdriver cupcake is dotted with bits of candied orange and topped with a cocktail inspired garnish of an orange wrapped maraschino cherry. The background is a dusky mauve to show off the pale sunset colors of the cupcake.

Speaking of sunsets, the daily cupcake is coming to a close, with tomorrow being the final cupcake. A new series is forming, but Scott wants a little R&R to regroup before the launch. We will announce here in a few weeks.

But before I get ahead of myself, after all we still have the grand finale, I hope you've noticed the little crinkle. The last four have had it, differentiating them from the other 360, could this be leading somewhere? See you tomorrow!

Cupcake #363 **sold**

A mocha sundae cupcake! Scott's great fondness for all things ice cream comes through in today's cupcake. Layers of pure yum, with a cherry on top! The bright red background will bring a splash of color wherever it goes. Only 2 more!

Today's cupcake will bring a fresh burst of color to any room! The marmalade ricotta frosting has slivers of candied orange peel. The color is mirrored in the orange sherbet background. Enjoy!

I love this cupcake! Especially the way the light reflects off the deep chocolate icing, not to mention the little crinkle in the cup. Surrounded by a bright spring green background. Simply beautiful! 4 more to go!

Cupcake #360 **sold**

A cool crisp blue surrounds this elegant white cupcake. The topping is thin crinkled layers of fondant, probably a miraculous achievement in the world of baking! The cool blues and white combined with that layer of minty green somehow remind me of toothpaste, an odd connection for sure. But the idea of a collection of these cupcakes in a dentist's office always makes me grin!

Now as we move towards the final 5 cupcakes we have some announcements to make. We are heading off to a show in Boca Raton, FL this weekend, so this is the last cupcake we will post this week. We will start again on Tuesday with #361 and post one each day with the last one going up on Saturday at as close to noon(EST) as I can muster. We've had a few requests to pre-purchase the last cupcake, but we are going to have to refrain from any favoritism and rely on the first come first serve method once I post. A shot of pure warm color to get you on your feet! The deep pure red of the strawberries is surrounded by it's neighbor on the color wheel, orange. But don't miss all the subtle color in the cream, blues, a hint of red reflecting... Enjoy!

Today's cupcake, in addition to being the perfect gift to tuck away for Valentine's day is also a nice use of primary colors. The red raspberry, blue blueberries and yellow custard are surrounded by otherwise neutral colors. And the liner covered with a scattering of hearts is pretty cool too! 7 more cupcakes to go!

Fancy purple piped icing tops today's chocolate cupcake. The purple is surrounded by the teal blue background, these are analogous colors, meaning that they sit next to each other on the color wheel. If you are a fan of the cool blue end of the color spectrum this may be your cupcake! Only 8 more to go, stay tuned!

Scott brought this little number down the studio stairs telling me all about it, "It's an ice cream cupcake, you cut off the top and put a scoop of ice cream inside!" Scott is an ice cream junkie, so I'm sure he was devouring this in his imagination! A little hot fudge on top, and you have pure heaven. The brick red background is a little bit on the neutral side and will look great with other earth tones. Have a great day!

Mmm, a smore cupcake! All the warm neutral browns in this piece are surrounded by a cool neutral gray. All this neutral stuff means this piece will play well with anyone, and serve as a bridge in a group of less than harmonious colors. And besides all that, who can resist that chocolate marshmallow combo!?

The first thing I thought of when I saw this cupcake was peeking in a bakery window as a child. I was totally mesmerised by the wedding cakes! An unashamedly girly cupcake, this would make a great baby shower gift. Or would be a great addition to a group, what a beauty!

What a lovely thing! This would definitely fit into my "grownup cupcake" category. A cupcake infused with a bit of lavender, with a complex yellow ochre background. And this pairs up beautifully with yesterday's, take a look!

Cupcake #352 is loaded with subtlety. Thin washes of yellow, and it's complement, purple, dance across the surface of the icing showing off the lights and shadows. The gray background is very neutral, allowing these nuances to shine. Enjoy!

A cupcake just like Grandma would have made. None of those fancy icing thingamajigs, all you need is a big bowl of chocolate icing, and a butter knife. The background is a beautiful royal purple, deep dark and delicious!

A cheery little cupcake! Scott is obviously fascinated with our bit of snow down south! Complete with a tiny red sled, I wonder if it's "Rosebud!"

Sometimes simple is better. A chocolate cupcake with a little chocolate drizzle. Surrounded by a retro green, close to the color of Jadeite, for those old enough to remember! Wishing you a simple, blissful day!

Layers of chocolate and cream are topped with a fresh raspberry. Surrounded by a background that would have once been called "dusty rose." A warm, slightly neutralized pink, it makes the chocolate sing, and the white of the cream pop! Enjoy, only 17 more to go!

The only thing better than a cupcake is a cupcake cookie combo! An Oreo nestled in a swirl of frosting has to bring a smile. I'm not sure what the flavor is supposed to be, pistachio, lime, mint? No matter, it looks great with the cantaloupe background! Only 19 cupcakes to go, as this series ends at #365. A full year of cupcakes, whew!

A little chocolate mocha bliss for our cupcake fans! At one time or another in art school you can count on having to produce a "monochromatic painting" as an exercise. Which is essentially what this is, one color, in this case brown, with white added to make tints, and black, to make shades. The frosting does seem to have a touch of pink, and the cup, a bit of yellow...but it is close! Now I want some chocolate covered coffee beans!

Nothing like a little bouquet of flowers to get you in the mood for spring! The blooms are wonderful complex combinations of cream, violet, and rose. The background is a deep warm mauve, more red than purple. Cheers, and we'll be back tomorrow!

Well here we are, starting off the New Year with lots of fresh fruit, vitamin C, antioxidants and all that stuff! Not to mention a splash of complementary colors in the form of orange and blue. Now close your eyes and imagine the orange and cream cheese frosting, and those little bits of candied orange peel, yum!
